Framme!

Nu är vi framme i Århus - ska försöka fortsätta lägga upp inlägg på denna hemsidan. Tävlingarna kan även följas på nätet live då alla båtar förses med en gps! :)

Nu väntar registrering och inmätning av båten och segel. Om allt går bra så får vi en lugn eftermiddag och kan ge oss ut på upptäcktsfärd. Sen ska vi masta på igen så att båten är klar för att segla igen. Vi ger oss säkert ut en sväng innan den första seglingstävlingen går av stapeln på måndag vid 13.

På väg mot Århus..

Igår eftermiddag tog vi en tur med Minesto innan det var dags att masta av. Det var ca 8m/s igår, härlig vind att susa fram i. På kryssen gick det riktigt fort, och jag trapetsade för fullt. På första slören såg vi att gps-programmet på mobilen registrerat 11knop som maxfart :)
Med sådan vind kommer vi kunna göra bra ifrån oss - undrar över hur det kommer att kännas med 125 båtar runt oss att ha koll på.. Haha..
Efter seglingen var det dags att lossa skot, trim, bom, vant och till sist  även masten. 
Imorse åkte vi ner och hämtade båttrailern och sen var det dags att åka iväg mot Århus och VM :)

Rent a car and find a boat trailer..

Does anyone have good tips on the following:

Rent a car and boat trailer in south of Sweden to transport us and our 505 to Aarhus?

We will need to get the boat to Århus last week of July and then back home again the first week of August.. Maybe we don't have to rent the car for the whole two weeks..

Anyone have any tips? :)

Premiere of spinnaker sailing..

Sunny, good wind, and one of the spinnaker brackets was now well secured (which we did last weekend) - We were ready to hoist the spinnaker! :)

We rigged the boat and sailed out to sea, it is always a wonderful feeling of freedom that appear in my mind and heart as soon as we left the boat pier, the port, entering the high seas.. :)

Today was meant to be a practice day for gybing with spinnaker and practice to hoist and to take it down too..
Well, how did it go then? At least I can say - We got some practice!!

We cruised out to a mark and pretended that it was our jibe mark, the tick around the mark went well, we fell off and began to hoist the spinnaker. Me trying to keep track of all the sheets and put the spinnaker pole in the right position, while my helmsman hoisted the spinnaker..

What a nice view, looking up at a spinnaker catching the wind and pulling the boat steady forward.. For a while we had a good practice, gybing, hoisting and pulling down the spinnaker..



We didn't had time to notice the wind shift.. It was a bit more wind and we started sailing upwind again, trying to find the nice jibe mark. We got ready for a new hoisting, and it went very well.. Then it was time for and ordinary jibe and then it just happened!!

I'm trying to recall that happened and I think that I let the spinnaker sheets go to early.. The spinnaker got some extra wind in a jibe and it took the possibility and swirled around the top of the boat mast. Our boat started to lean a lot and was about to roll over..

We decided to pass the boat on the side, I swam towards the mast top and removed the spinnaker from the top. I realised then that the small black thing that before had flew passed me, just before the spinnaker swirled, was the vindex..

We got the boat flat again, and got the spinnaker back into the boat.. Then we just sailed some half wind trapeze back into the harbour.. :)

An eventful and rewarding sailing - us feeling very much alive ;)

Practice race in Lomma

Last year we joined the dinghy-sailing practice at the local port...
Each Tuesday (when we have time) we try to learn more about our 505 and sail with other boats.

It's mainly Europe-class dinghies and two RS-feva - It so much fun!

They are very good, and I feel that I get a lot of practice..
Due to that our class in not official in the race list, I made a own racing list. And for the first time we are using a start watch.. :)

Fixing the boat..

Here are some pictures of us fixing our 505-Minesto, a Parker!

The autumn storm lifted her off the berthing, giving her a small crack
near the centerboard trunk.. :(

But now she is ready for the sea again!! :)
